It’s coming. Be prepared for the sweaty, embarrassing clean-up.
10) Dimitri From Paris
What: Disco doyen Dimitri From Paris is one of the most prolific disco producers and DJs of our time, having created numerous masterpieces across his career. Where other DJs shy away from defining their sound for fear of being pigeon-holed, Dimitri has no qualms about being known as a ‘disco king’. His superb album ‘Le Chic Remix’, showcasing edits and remixes of Chic Productions, came out last year to huge acclaim, and including three brand new mixes. Welcome Dimitri back to the rooftop terrace at Café del Mar for his only EXCLUSIVE Sydney performance.
Why: Doyen. Noun. “the most respected or prominent person in a particular field”. The more you know.
9) NYE 2019 feat. Todd Terry
What: Situated in the heart of Darling Harbour, the iconic waterfront rooftop venue offers the perfect open-air setting to celebrate, and premium views of Sydney’s famous Darling Harbour NYE fireworks. Dine, drink, dance and party into the New Year in style! Grammy Award nominated DJ/Producer Todd Terry has been engulfed in dance music since he first started listening to European dance music records while growing up in Brooklyn. Already devoted to turntables, he heard something different in those tracks, and he “went for the difference. I never got a break in New York, but England happened right away, so I catered to them.” In any event, the Todd Terry sound was born. Todd is one of the world’s most celebrated figures in dance music. Experience him live.
Why: A person named Todd Terry is holding a party and it isn’t a cult disguised as a TED talk. Seems worthy of a look-in.
8) Home Rooftop New Years Eve Party
What: It’s the sweetest time of the year! The weather gets golden, the parties get bigger and we’re leading up to the biggest celebration of all… New Years Eve! This year it’s going to be an absolute treat on Home’s Rooftop with gorgeous fire work views across Darling Harbour. Watch out for the DJ lineup.
Why: Golden. Apocalypse-red. It’s all the same when you’re at a rooftop rave and are playing with the idea of throwing yourself off the side of the building.
7) NYE feat. Friendly Fires & NYD feat. Set Mo
What: This New Year’s Eve, revellers at Manly Wharf Hotel can enjoy front row seats for the local harbourside fireworks before Friendly Fires (DJ set), the indie-dance dons responsible for some of the biggest dancefloor anthems of the last 10 years, take to the decks for an exclusive DJ set. With a songsheet of disco, pop, yacht rock and vintage rave-up – they will be hellbent on making this one to remember. On New Year’s Day, complimentary Heineken, Chandon and canapes will be on hand from to revive guests from the night before and to raise a toast to the 20th year of the third millennium. Keeping the kids dancing are homegrown heroes, Set Mo (DJ set). Sydneysiders Nick Drabble and Stu Turner who are known for their marathon stints behind the decks, will be ensuring it’s four to the floor from the get-go for 2020. The duo’s signature blend of Balearic beats, classic house and sun-soaked bangers will be the perfect soundtrack for sundowners on the wharf before they ratchet it up a notch and it’s all-out hands in the air antics to the finish line.
Why: Yacht rock. Yacht rock?
6) NYE at The Fox Hole
What: For one night only The Fox Hole will bring back to life the roaring 20s in our Victorian-era venue. Enter through an unmarked side door and descend the stairs into an intimate and secretive space, where the tables are adorned with heavy fabrics, the walls are bathed in candlelight and the jazz makes you think the party will never end.
Why: Step into the new era in a wild party resembling the moronic excess-filled hope of a doomed people before their spectacular economic fall and don’t think about the aptness at all.

31st December-2nd January
What: Every summer since 1993, The Falls Music & Arts Festival has been at the forefront of the east coast Australian festival scene, defining the real difference between a mere music festival and a true festival experience. Why: It turns out the real difference between a mere music festival and a true festival experience is actually dying of heat exposure whilst a geriatric John Farnham warbles ‘You’re The Voice’, as opposed to just passing out.
