Top 10 Melbourne Revelry On this week 17/02/2019
Gather your tribe; this week is as ultra-concentrated as whatever they had to pump into present day Suzi Quatro to enable her to perform live on stage.
10) White Noise & Morning After present Budakid
What: White Noise Music and Morning After are teaming up to bring one of the Netherlands’ hottest melodic techno and house DJ/Producers to Melbourne: Budakid. Having recently been signed to two of the world’s leading electronic music labels – All Day I Dream, and Einmusika – Kevin Huizing (a.k.a. Budakid) has come a long way in such a short period of time, so come catch this huge talent.
Why: Expand your knowledge of the Netherlands beyond that of Nazis and weed.
9) Time: Jacky — Rooftop Day Party
What: To welcome their first party of 2019 – and first day party ever – Treat have invited an international guest from the UK: Jacky. With his Jacky & Friends EP release this year already testing speakers across the Australian festival and club scene, this will certainly be a show you don’t want to miss.
Why: Or you could go to the club down the road. They’re also putting on a show you don’t want to miss. Or the club three doors over. Or one of the 300 other clubs.
8) Solar – The Gaso (Day Party)
What: Solar events are very proud to present their inaugural day party soiree at The Gasometer Hotel. Bringing the heat to this premium open air venue is an almighty selection of talent such as Sunshine, Spacey Space, Brian Fantana, Ryan Haynes, The Slingsby Brothers and many more.
Why: What’s better than drinking in the day time? Nothing. But what’s slightly worse? Doing it surrounded by club music under a sun that seems bent on causing at least three fresh tumours per hour.
7) Cool Room 4th Birthday!
What: For their 4th Birthday, the Cool Room wanted to get back to basics. To celebrate four years of partying, they’ll be going deep and wiggly with the city’s finest export, Kate Miller, who will be taking control of the decks all night long.
Why: And here we thought the Wiggles were going through their grunge phase. Unfortunately…it’s another club DJ.
6) Full Moon Party
What: The Legendary Full Moon Party from Thailand returns to Melbourne this February for another AMAZINGLY fun night. Melbourne’s Biggest nightclub will be completely transformed over 2 rooms, with 1000’s of free glow sticks, festival wands, flashing leis, UV face/body paint, dancers and amazing neon light shows!
Why: We usually tend to want to turn a blind eye to a bunch of sweaty people in a room grinding on each other and intermittently puking up jagermeister, but those crafty sons of- have found a way to make their war paint burn right through our eyelids. To which we say: kudos.
5) Mono Loco Boat Party
What: Getting nautical on the Yarra; all aboard the Mono Loco steamboat for a cruise along the banks of Melbournes’ metropolis. Expect a Funktion-One sound system, full bar and food service paired with resident sound sailors guiding the lines.
Why: There’s no better way to stifle your feelings of guilt at your less-than-functional alcoholism than blaming your 9 minute puke session on sea sickness.
4) Brewers Feast: Craft Beer, Food and Music Festival
What: Melbourne’s boutique craft beer, food and music festival is back at the Abbotsford Convent showcasing the finest craft beer from around Australia. With Bintani Festival Beers returning in 2019, get set to try 15+ festival exclusive beers, sip and savour these unique brews created specially for Brewers Feast.
Why: What differentiates an addict from a connoisseur? Why the words ‘craft’ and ‘festival’ of course! Though for extra insurance you might want to grow a moustache and purchase a fedora.
3) Melbourne Holi Tribe Festival
What: Numerous legends & stories associated with Holi celebration makes the festival exuberant and vivid. People rub ‘gulal’ and ‘abeer’ on each others’ faces and cheer up saying HOLI HAI. Holi also gives a wonderful chance to send blessings and love to dear ones. A unique event that offers a taste of Indian Holi and will take your spirit dancing non stop to Techno, Trance, Deep House and Tech House.
Why: Nothing says ‘namaste’ out of context and in a terrible accent than a bunch of deep house techno bros rubbing powder on each others faces.
2) Red Hot Summer Tour Ascot 2019 feat. Moving Pictures, Chocolate Starfish, Jon Stevens, The Screaming Jets, Baby Animals, The Angels and Suzi Quatro
What: Series Two of this coveted touring festival will see the return of the Queen of Rock Suzi Quatro, with special guests The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets, Jon Stevens, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish.

What: A 2 day, 2 city event boasting the world’s top EDM DJ’s with unparalleled stage designs and top tier production. Featured headliners: Adam Beyer, The Chainsmokers, Dubfire, Illesium, Marshmello, and Martin Garrix.
Why: From the bros of the music genre that brought the terms banger, fist pump and dubstep into the 21st Century. Essentially, if you are affiliated with words containing three syllables or more, this event is not for you.
