7) GRMLN ‘Dark Music in the Sun’ Pre-Record Release Show

What: Colossus Records are exited to be hosting a new release by indie punk GRMLN! Park was born in Kyoto, Japan and raised in Southern California. Park started recording and producing music during his early years under the moniker GRMLN. Even though the project started off as an experiment for recording, Park’s songs quickly picked up internet buzz, getting written up by many popular music blogs in the US and the UK, including DIY Magazine.
Why: Generic punk. Because it’s 2021 and that’s no longer a paradox.
6) Diver: Sober

What: On the back of their explosive second single ‘Sober’, Sydney lads Diver have loaded up the car and are cruising up the coast! Diver exploded onto the scene late last year with the release of their debut single ‘Seabreeze Motel’ and played successive sold out shows at Sydney’s Frankies Pizza, Moshpit and Lazy Bones. Like their first release, ‘Sober’ is an energetic and pulsating track from start to finish, layered with haunting synth leads and a stomping bass groove.

4) The Stranger, Void Matter, Revoid: Live

What: Metal act The Stranger have been creating quality music and gracing stages since 2013, mixing elements of prog titans like Opeth and Dream Theater with their own interests in djent, folk, acoustic and funk. Following the success of their self-titled debut release the quintet have proven themselves energetic performers, sharing stages with fellow Australian ground-breakers such as Ne Obliviscaris and Caligula’s Horse. Joining them for the night are modern metallers Void Matter and metalcore aficionado’s Revoid.
Why: Blow out your eardrums so you don’t have to listen to one more goddamn thing about the royal f***ing family.
3) St. Patrick’s Day: Irish Murphy’s
14th-17th March
What: Irish Murphy’s have got an unmissable line up of the best in Irish entertainment, cover bands, giveaways and ice cold pints of Guinness. With appearances from The Gathering, Qld Irish Assoc Pipe Band, Trad Station, Ramjet, Mark Butler Duo, Tales of Strangers, BERST, Tartan Shamrock, Woody Lives Here, Rob Fitchett and Locky.
Why: The one day a year when people without Irish ancestry can celebrate Irish culture without immediately indicating to everyone that they’re one half-step away from shouting “white power”!

2) Atlas and the Attic, Khara Van Park, EKHOS DREAM: Live

What: Atlas and the Attic is an indie rock band emerging from Australia’s bustling music scene. Pulling from a wide range of influences from the soulful lyricism of Gang of Youths to the musical complexity of John Mayer, the band burst onto the indie scene in late 2017. Khara Van Park are an electrifying new 3-piece from Brisbane. The band bring sultry vocals, funky bass, wailing guitars and energetic drums to a rocking blues sound, delivered with razor-sharp precision. Ekhos Dream is the indie rock project of singer/songwriter Pierangela, bass player Duncan Adamson and drummer Oska Zervoudakis. Experience all these bands live.

1) Crowd Surf

What: In a massive coup for music and car lovers alike, the inaugural CROWD SURF festival launches at Sandstone Point Hotel Bribie Island in 2021, with an all-Australian line-up featuring ICEHOUSE, Pete Murray, The Black Sorrows with Vika & Linda Bull, Diesel, Busby Marou and Katie Noonan. CROWD SURF is all about the great nostalgia of the Bribie Island seaside town and what better way to embody that spirit than with a day in the sun jam-packed with great music and featuring a classic surf car show with vehicles from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
