4th March
What: The notorious STÜM is taking over the boiler room for two hours with his infamous slammers. Rejoice in the Funktion-One sound system and industrial laser lights until the birds chirp. Or take a 180 and enjoy classic disco hits in a fairy-vibe beer garden, provided by your trusted social residents.
Why: As of 2015, an event is simply not worth being seen at unless it has an umlaut in its name.

4) Malthouse Outdoor Stage
28th February-14th March
What: The new Malthouse Outdoor Stage will host music, comedy, dance, cabaret, talks, and theatre, all in the open air. The stage will open with a line-up of local artists including ARIA-winning jazz and soul prodigy Kaiit, euphoric funk craftsmen Mildlife, and the singular style of Emma Donovan & The Putbacks. The program will continue with comedians taking centre stage, including Lano & Woodley, Eddie Perfect, Anne Edmonds, and Judith Lucy and Denise Scott.
Why: It’s open air. So the miasma of mouth juices has a chance to really expand throughout the atmosphere.

3) Live at the Bowl

What: The Sidney Myer Music Bowl will host an open-air season of music, comedy, family-friendly events and more. Why: Because unfortunately mass death in 2020 wasn’t enough to kill off the dregs of 2000-2010.

2) Moomba Festival
5th-8th March
What: The iconic Moomba Festival welcomes people into the city annually on the Labour Day long weekend in March, to experience the traditions and fun of Melbourne’s longest-running and largest community festival. A celebration of Melbourne, Moomba is famous for its Moomba Monarchs who reign over the traditional Monday street parade, Birdman Rally on the Yarra River, carnival in Alexandra Gardens and nightly fireworks. Visitors can also get involved in a music program packed with headliners and local up-and-comers, the Moomba Masters waterskiing competition, skate park workshops, competitions and engaging children’s activities. All events are free and take place across the long weekend.
Why: Nothing marks the gruelling achievements of the Australian working class in terms of egalitarian unionisation like two rich celebrities in crowns heckling a waterskiing competition.

1) Friends Of Friends Street Rave
6th March
What: Australia’s talent pool is truly overflowing. After the unfortunate cosmic event known as 2020, it’s time we pay homage to those local creatives in the best way we know: a huge industrial street rave with a city skyline shaking in the pulsating waves emanating from a crystal clear Funktion-One Soundsystem. Featuring: Cassettes For Kids, Katie Pearson, Loods, Marli, Merve, Pretty Girl and Toni Yotzi.
Why: For people so willing to describe COVID-19 as a ‘cosmic event’, they seem awfully chipper, tempting fate with a mass street grind.
