4) Virtual Guided Tour of Louvre Museum

What: Experience the Louvre live! Discover the history of the building, the monarchs involved with its development, the controversies, and, of course, the creation of the current collection. After learning of the history of the building, explore the Louvre and experience the paintings and sculptures within its walls. Learn the history and interpretations of multiple works of art (some famous, some not as well known). The tour will conclude with a discussion of the Mona Lisa including its own history, analysis, and value to the world.
Why: The most tedious aspect of any trip to Paris brought to you via the consequences of 2020.

What: Revolutions don’t only happen in grand, public moments, but in the space where a critical mass of people come together to inhabit a new way of being. Join Valarie Kaur, civil rights lawyer, award-winning filmmaker, founder of The Revolutionary Love Project, and author of See No Stranger in conversation with One World editor-in-chief Chris Jackson. Together they will explore how we can begin the labour of reckoning, reimagining, and healing our society. We each have a role to play and we will only succeed if we choose to show up with love.
Why: We’ve always known a mass orgy would solve most of society’s ills.
2) Van Gogh Museum: Livestream Art Tour
4th January
What: Experience an online/virtual tour of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Van Gogh Museum holds the world’s largest collection of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and drawings, plus works by many other artists including Monet, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec and more. There’ll be a live discussion concerning how the museum’s paintings and drawings compare and contrast with well-known items at other museums and the context of these works in Vincent’s life and legacy.
Why: Observe the manic spatter of the mentally ill without having to visit your family.
1) Judgment at Nuremberg: Livestream Film History Program

What: Experience a special screening, analysis and audience discussion of Judgment at Nuremberg. Before the 90-minute film screening this program will feature an analysis and discussion, including some optional audience participation activities that you can chose to participate in, or not. There will also be a brief discussion of two other Nuremberg films: Judgment at Nuremberg (the 1961 Hollywood version) and Nuremberg (2000 miniseries).
Why: Turns out there are worse things than running out of toilet paper and WW84.

4) Outdoor Gallery ‘Sunny Side Up’ Curators’ Walking Tour with Jordan Azcune

What: As part of Brisbane City’s Outdoor Gallery exhibition Sunny Side Up, you are invited to join us for a curators’ walking tour throughout the Outdoor Gallery with co-curator Alex Holt and exhibiting artist Holly Anderson. Sunny Side Up is a collection of vibrant artworks by emerging Brisbane-based contemporary artists that explore Brisbane’s subtropical identity, unique physical features and cultural atmosphere. The exhibition brings to the fore the optimism, abundance, and playful spirit of the Sunshine State.
Why: Quick, before Brisbane’s climate shifts from subtropical to Mad Max.
3) The Enchanted Garden

What: Be transported to a world of wonderment, as Roma Street Parkland becomes illuminated with more than 40,000 fairy lights at The Enchanted Garden lighting display. From hanging crystal curtains to neon butterflies and laser gardens, the new lighting design treats visitors to an evening walk, unlike any other. Several premium food truck eats are available at Celebration Lawn, or you can head to The Garden Room Café.
Why: There’s nothing like puking up tacos in a fairy garden.

1) Cut Copy Curator’s Tour
9th January
What: Remember your first Brisbane gig? Step back into Brisbane’s underground music scene of the 1970s and 80s with a curator’s tour of State Library’s latest exhibition Cut Copy: Brisbane music posters 1977-87. State Library’s exhibition curators will reveal the DIY design ethos of the era as you discover the stories behind the posters and handbills, and the bands and venues that inspired them. From The Go-Betweens to The Leftovers, Razar to The Riptides, dig deep into Brisbane’s alternative music past and the design work that took it to the streets.
Why: A window into a time when band posters weren’t just closeups of butts.
