4) Carbon8 Campfire Film Festival

Be inspired by a deep conversation with three extraordinary women who have made a deep impact with the work they do on the global stage in connecting to their ancestral wisdom. Dr Vandana Shiva, the protector of Biological and Cultural Diversity, Dr Anne Poelina. a Nyikina Traditional Custodian from Australia and Diane Longboat, a traditional teacher from Six Nations Grand River Territory, Canada. These wisdom keepers straddle worlds, combining deep knowledge of place and kin, of big picture systems and ecology with new learnings and bring with them a huge range of knowledge and expertise. The interview will follow with the screening of Three Sisters – Women of High Degree – seven years in the making with conversations between three Yimardoowarra Marninil, Nyikina women from the Fitzroy River, Lucy Marshall, Jeannie Wabi, and Anne Poelina, and French-Australian filmmaker Magali McDuffie.

3) Beats Antique: New Year’s Eve in The Virtual Mushroom

The band forges a curious alliance between middle eastern traditions and potent west coast circus, underground hip hop, breakbeat brass band, downtempo, glitch and dubstep.
