What: Michael Franti is a globally recognised musician, humanitarian, activist, and award-winning filmmaker revered for his high-energy live shows. As a result of COVID, he will be conducting a series of virtual concerts. According to Franti, “we’ve been working on putting together one of a kind online experiences that are as uniquely moving and entertaining as our live concerts are in person”.

Why: Tall order. We haven’t been really been moved or entertained by anything virtual since July. And we’ve seen two-and-a-half livestreamed suicides.

9) Black Stone Cherry: Live

What: Join hard rock band Black Stone Cherry as they perform songs for the first time from their upcoming new album “Human Condition.” Recorded live from the SkyPac stage in Bowling Green, KY, expect an electrifying evening full of your favourite BSC songs and new soon-to-be classics.

Why: If only being a human was as diagnosable as rockers seem to think, heroin would’ve been globally legalised ages ago.

8) Grateful Dead: Dead Ahead

What: Experience Grateful Dead’s ‘Dead Ahead’ Concert film in a live broadcast. ‘Dead Ahead’ features footage of the band’s October 30 and 31, 1980 shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Why: We’re not sure if these guys are still considered cool. But if you’ve ever wanted to hear the running soundtrack going on inside your slightly creepy burnout uncle’s head, tune in to this.

What: Bridging the gap between their frenetic live shows and their carefully crafted studio albums, this film presents Ohmme’s latest full length album in its entirety with the addition of their newest songs “Mine” and “Miasma.” The show captures Ohmme with an expanded lineup featuring Nnamdï Ogbonnaya on drums, Ruby Parker and Quinn Tsan on backing vox and V.V. Lightbody on backing vox and flute.

What: Heavy metal outfit GWAR are playing a livestream concert dubbed Scumdog XXX Live, during which they’ll play the entirety of ‘Scumdogs of the Universe’ from beginning to end.

What: Animal Collective is hosting a 10th anniversary party for visual album ODDSAC. The event will include a Q&A with director Danny Perez, DJ sets by members of the band, and a costume contest.

Why: Apparently the album involves demonic cooks and screaming, preaching monks. So basically early Sunday morning Free To Air television.
