10) LaundryTV: Next Gen Festival 

14th June

What: Dezzy D, with DJ support by DJ JC King, along with 5 hip hop artists will showcase their talent through individual and group performances live on the Laundry stage, including an exclusive performance of 16 bars never heard before. The live stream will be rounded off with a short group interview, and a chance for the audience to get to know the artists a bit better. Lockdown don’t stop talent.

Why: It doesn’t necessarily manifest talent either.

9) Virtual TRiPTease

What: To keep your week spicy, check out Virtual TRiPTease! A virtual online variety party every Wednesday hosted by the Original Dame/Producer Lola Boutée alongside TRiP’s one and only sassy pinup bartender, Shira Roman. Grab a cocktail or mocktail and tune in each week on Zoom for a hilarious late-night “happy hour” event every Wednesday featuring different cabaret segments each week and special guests!

Why: Because even though bars are tentatively open, we’re still a few months away from collectively being able to go full Minnelli all over the chairs.

8) National Lampoon Live with Harrison Greenbaum

20th June

What: National Lampoon Live is a raucous comedy panel show featuring some of the country’s hottest comedians talking about some of the world’s craziest stuff – from Britney Spears burning down her gym to quarantine sex positions – all in front of a live “in virtual studio” audience. The show is hosted and written by Harrison Greenbaum (Conan) and has featured comedians such as Emma Willmann (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Netflix), Eliot Glazer (Broad City), and Maddy Smith (Wild ‘N Out). It is executive produced by Greenbaum, along with National Lampoon President Evan Shapiro and National Lampoon executive Brandon Tamburri.

Why: Shapiro and his band are trying to “mobilise into [the] void”. There’s nothing less uncomfortable than a panel of comedians trying desperately to make you laugh.

7) Royal Albert Home: Lucy Dacus

18th June

What: Singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus will deliver an exclusive set from her home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions. Following the release of her widely-acclaimed sophomore album Historian, and the collaborative boygenius EP with Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers, Dacus spent the past year rolling out a festive mix of original and cover songs tied to various holidays, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Bruce Springsteen’s Birthday, Halloween and Christmas. The resulting record, 2019, is a captivating body of work that foregrounds Lucy’s versatility as both a knockout cover artist and pre-eminent young songwriter voice of today.

Why: One to watch. Jump on this train now because she’s about to snag an entire career exclusively scoring films starring Anne Hathaway in which Anne Hathaway wants to seem melancholy in a cute, relatable way.

6) Offstage With DWP: Papa Roach

What: Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix will do an exclusive Q&A as part of new streaming series Offstage With DWP. What: Legendary punk band Pennywise’s Fletcher Dragge will do a Q&A as well as a mixology class as part of Offstage With DWP.

Why: Nothing says ‘against the machine punk’ like honouring one of the most mainstream, over-monetised characters in Hollywood history.

4) Metallica Mondays

What: While we’re all doing our part and staying home, Metallica is diving back into a few of their favorite shows at a socially responsible distance. Virtually visit a few of Metallica’s favourite places in the world with them as they bring a series of live Metallica shows right to your couch! Don’t worry if you can’t catch it “live,” the show will be available on demand for an entire week.
