We are living in an age of unprecedented content.

We have access to hours of entertainment of the highest quality, the lowest, dirtiest fast-food television and whatever new live action series DC is crapping out.

This has undoubtedly come in handy in the recent months due to the crisis with many people becoming unashamedly acquainted with the implausibly milquetoast machinations of a bunch of inbred Germanic tax evaders occupying several British castles and swanning around in ridiculous robes.

But we’re currently in a period of flux once again. The knowability of lockdown meant we were aware of our collective options and so the zeitgeist was easy and predictable. Now, we’re slowly returning to a reality containing social situations in which face-to-face conversations occur. And our options have suddenly, unfortunately expanded.

Binging films and TV shows will slowly become less of an acceptable pastime if you’re not digesting something that provokes your intellectual curiosity and has at least two umlauts in its title and six lesbians in its credits.

Discover and watch films during this first ever 10-day global film festival co-curated by over 20 film festivals from across the world. All funds raised during the festival will benefit COVID-19 relief funds. The festival will feature programming curated by the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, International Film Festival & Awards Macao (IFFAM), Jerusalem Film Festival, Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI), Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, Marrakech International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival (IFFR), San Sebastian International Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and Venice Film Festival.

You’ll never atone for that split second when you thought maybe Jeremy Piven wasn’t that bad in Mr Selfridge.
