Into the Unknown with Imogen Heap
Music; family; those little moments of quiet the moment before dawn breaks.
There’s just so much to be unhappy about on top of the vortex of s**t in which we’re all currently swirling around.
The problem is that there’s precious little that we do not know about this awful moment in humanity’s existence.
To be more accurate, there’s precious little that we’re told we know.
It’s impossible to truly know whether what you’re being told you know is something that’s knowable, but we’re all being told we should know a lot of things and it’s equally impossible to know nothing as a form of protest because that would require a legally incestuous spouse, fifteen fewer teeth and a love of Mel Gibson that has only grown over the past decade.
The point is, it’s 2020 and we at least know that. And that is terrifying.
What we need right now is a dose of something completely, unabashedly unknowable. Something the very nature of which requires one to not understand it. Something that if understood ceases to exist. Something that requires a complete lack of meaning, depth or purpose in order to exist. Something like a contemporary new media experimental music performance.
And Imogen Heap is here to provide.
Yes, Imogen Heap will deliver an exclusive set from her home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions. The Ivor Novello-winning producer, writer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and technologist is the creative force behind gestureware MI.MU gloves and the music ecosystem Mycelia.
Imogen won a Grammy for her work with Taylor Swift and was Grammy nominated as the composer & arranger for the acclaimed West End musical Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This special Royal Albert Home set will see Heap let her fans choose the setlist she will perform.
Breathe a deep sigh of relief.
Immerse yourself in something that requires absolutely no follow-up commentary (and resultant morbid anxieties) except for mild inarticulate noises of approval.
Be safe in the knowledge that you’re supposed to know nothing after this performance, because there is absolutely nothing to know.
