9) VIER: Launch Party
11th January
What: VIER (translated to FOUR in German) was born in Berlin in 2016, with the concept to showcase unique electro dance music talent from different parts of Europe. It’s time for VIER to spread it’s wings to Australia, launching with a daytime open-air series over summer. For the first Australian edition they’re focusing on locally born talent, and in particular artists that are doing great things overseas: Monika Ross, Marlie, Thilini and Danni B.
Why: Well, at least they’ve admitted that the intent to show the uniqueness of electro dance music is purely conceptual and thus does not need to manifest in reality.

8) Division + Novel pres. Denis Sulta
11th January
What: After delivering one of the highlight sets at Days Like This Festival 2019, certified party starter and selection master, Denis Sulta, will make a triumphant return to Sydney and lead the charge on another epic open air party at Greenwood. Sulta’s meticulous and diverse approach to dance music has seen his stand out capabilities reach unbelievable new heights for someone still so young.
Why: The young will eat the old. But at least they’ll do it carefully and meticulously. It turns out all those years they really were listening to older generations emphasising the importance of good table manners.
7) UNDISCLOSED 21.0

What: They’re back on home turf in January, with a well-deserved headliner slot for Lex Barlin. Regulars of UNDISCLOSED will be familiar with Lex, he is a talented multi-instrumentalist who’s been cutting his teeth all over Sydney’s underground consistently for over a year now. His forthcoming releases and distinctly unique take on house and techno has been intriguing as well as rocking basements and underground spaces around Sydney. Experience him live.
Why: He’s so dedicated to his art he has included the repeated sound of him getting his teeth actually cut with a hand saw in many of his tracks.

6) HDO presents Avi8
10th January
What: Hailing from Scotland, euphoric hardstyle artist Avi8 kick-started his career by signing with Gearbox Euphoria and has been releasing hit after hit ever since. With his melodic, uplifting and emotional sounds, Avi8 definitely brings the feels. HDO Events is bringing Avi8 back to Sydney for their biggest event yet! His set will be full of the tracks you know and love, as well as showcasing some unreleased bangers!
Why: Ah, so that’s what we were supposed to be appreciating with hardstyle electro. The melody. We always thought it was an audio track for screwdriver-in-woodchipper porn.

5) C?NDY
11th January
What: Performing new music from her recent hip-hop EP drop “NOVA”, Western Sydney’s C?NDY debuts her new single, “AHI AHI” and brings her pop-latino vibes to Freda’s bar. A night full of diversity and culture, supporting local independent music.
Why: Nothing screams diversity and independence like distilling a potentially complex point of view into generic pop music.

4) Klubnacht II
11th January
What: Klubnacht returns for a second instalment at the infamous Imperial basement with a night of heavy underground techno inspired by elements of Berlin’s and Australia’s techno scene. On headlining duties is Melbourne legend William Kiss (Renesanz). Fresh off playing Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), William Kiss will bring his obsession for the deep, dark and driving techno that he has become known for.
Why: A deep, dark, heavy experience inspired by Germans. Sounds like a delightful, non-threatening Saturday evening.

3) Jay Park SEXY 4EVA Official After Party feat. BacknForth
10th January
What: This is the official after party in Sydney for Jay Park’s final leg of the SEXY 4EVA World Tour. Jay Park is the first Asian-American artist to sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and one of South Korea’s biggest hip-hop stars. Come celebrate with Jay and the BacknForth crew.
Why: An important cultural, racial and artistic moment never sounded so wildly generic.

Why: Don’t forget to watch out for the wildly accurate piece of performance art featuring thousands of people fleeing a very realistic all-consuming raging fire. Don’t worry if cops are telling you to run and your clothes suddenly start to feel very warm, it’s just the genius of the piece.
