Due to recent events on the world scale that question is fraught with danger.

With Brexit straddled like a naked geriatric bigot on top of Britain, the economic stability, not to mention the racial, civil and political stability, of what we call “that whole area” is severely threatened.

With the future of what is our somewhat estranged motherland in question, with what is, amongst other perhaps more tangible things, a symbolic representation of post-war peace becoming more brittle by the minute, there is one question that has floated to the surface of the world’s consciousness.

“Milk or tea first?”

Of course, we’d give our answer, the clearly correct answer that anyone would be a moron to declare incorrect, but we don’t want to do that. We feel that there is a much more important role that tea can play in uniting, rather than dividing people.

And, like in so many situations, the key here is to remove the white, full-fat source of divisiveness.

The Sydney Tea Expo is an interactive experience designed to help Australian community to experience tea culture.

Spend a full day tasting all sorts of teas from over a hundred exhibitors and enjoy tea-related forums, ceremonies, performances, workshops and tastings at this four-day event which will extend your tea appreciation of the finest brew.

Teaware, handcrafts, Chinese paintings and calligraphy are also displayed at the event.

Yes, when a situation such as this arises, it’s easy to forget that there is so much more that unites us than divides us.

There’s not only your run-of-the-mill black tea with milk.

There’s green tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea and dark tea.

And we all, no matter our political affiliation, pretend to enjoy all of them.
