Be Optimistic at Oktoberfest in the Gardens

The Germans are coming.

But looking at the current international climate, and crunching the numbers that are possible to predict, that won’t be for at least a couple of years.

So, let’s embrace state-specificity and welcome a Bavarian celebration.

The celebration comes bearing beer, lederhosen (of the frivolity kind) and silent discos (of the still-threatening but apolitical kind).

Yes, Oktoberfest has arrived on the shores of Sydney.

Inspired by the love of the traditional Bavarian festival and great beer, Oktoberfest in the Gardens features two massive big top beer halls, authentic food stalls, roving performers, sideshow alley, silent disco, a wood chopping demonstration and an eclectic mix of entertainment and competitions across multiple stages throughout the afternoon and evening.

Taste your way across Europe with a large selection of imported beer, cider, wine and a range of other beverages.

So raise high your glass and make merry, for the times we live in are frightening and unstable.

And if you’re still unable to divorce the celebrations from the image of war tanks rolling across The Domain, perhaps take some comfort in the fact that the presence of war tanks is pretty much the only thing that could make Carols in the Domain somewhat compelling.
