Time To Visit Your Sketchy Friend; You’re Travelling to Mushroom Valley

Wet, malodorous and fungal.

That’s right, it’s an EDM festival.

Mushroom Valley.

Well, it is an apt name choice for a festival of contemporary electronic music.

Mushrooms call all manner of things to mind, from Lewis Carroll to Heston Blumenthal. But despite the myriad of connotations concerning the mushroom, one thing remains clear. In every incarnation, hallucinogenics are required.

You can’t expect someone to sit through an hour of an aggressively bald man talking about potatoes with unadulterated brain function any more than you can expect someone to ‘enjoy’ contemporary electronic dance music with unadulterated brain function.

So, come one, come all, if you’ve adequate supplies.

Mushroom Valley is more then just a party. It’s a community, a place where you can grow, learn and connect with other like minded people. A place where you can come and be revitalised and re-energised to go out and take on the “real” world. There are plenty of workshops for the young and old in the healing village as well as massage and reiki.

Over the weekend the music will range through many genres. On the Friday night it will be a funk, glitch and drum and bass session, then Saturday night your more traditional techno, progressive and psytrance, with diversity over the weekend being the main flavour.

The line up so far includes: Earthling, Aardvarkk, Rinkadink, Hood Rich, Farebi Jalebi, Fábio Leal, Slytrance, Ryanosaurus, Rainbird, April Kerry, Organic Distortion, Electrocado, Kodiak Kid, JPS, Discord, Paul Abad, smiGGle, Lickweed, Ozzy, Megapixel, Tekka, Brothers, Strange Planet, Crooks, Psymon, Old Man River, Z.I.V and Duos.

Just to clarify, we don’t actively condone the use of mind-altering hallucinogenics. But we also don’t condone the existence of electronic dance music.

The second thing is obviously here to stay, so trying to prevent consumption of the first thing would only cause greater pain.

We’re not monsters.
