10) The Drifter: Nights Like This

What: The Drifter is Mark Flynn, an Irish producer, DJ and singer. The Drifter’s DJ style, like his productions, definitely lean towards the hypnotic, melodic and emotive side of electronic music. No matter what genre he is playing. House, Techno or Disco. Look forward to his debut in the GB Basement.
Why: No longer is a drifter a legend of beat poetry. He’s a guy with a turntable and sick beats, dude. Frankly, we can’t figure out which one is more annoying.

9) Souluxe presents Grey Goose Sunday Session

What: Souluxe Record Co is fast becoming one of the world’s favourite house music record labels. Delivering high quality underground House and Disco music with major successes this year in both international and domestic music charts. To celebrate their success, they are teaming up with Café Del Mar and Grey Goose to stage their annual event at the Sunday Sessions on the world-famous terrace.
Why: Really makes you wish for the days when house music was believably rebellious. They’d never have celebrated it on an open terrace. In full earshot of other people.
8) Ball Pit Party
4th October
What: Step inside an EPIC adult wonderland complete with cocktails, tunes and balls, balls, balls. With 200,000+ balls, confetti cannons, party DJs and neon cocktail buckets. Get ready for one of this year’s most Instagrammable events, as Side Bar fills with booze, balls & plenty of unrestrained fun.
Why: It would have been less disturbing had they been referring to a mass orgy.

7) Mi Casa Mexicana
5th October
What: Come and experience the taste and flavours of Mexico at this Pop Up event underground in the heart of Bondi Junction. A collaboration between Sydney Latin Life and The Junction, Bondi will allow you to taste a huge range of Tequila & Mezcal alongside freshly made Ceviche all while a live mariachi band takes the main stage! Saturday Nights then launch into Full Reggaeton to keep the party going all night.
Why: Nothing quashes the harrowing image of children in cages suffering from PTSD at the U.S.-Mexican border like tequila.

What: Kick off the long weekend with a debauched jaunt to Threshold at Our Secret Spot. All Genders, All Kinks, All Welcome. For all the fetishists to come and play.
Why: For a few brief moments escape into a world of simulated fear filled with whips, ball-gags, ropes and a-frames, before you return to the calm, the sunshine and the socioeconomic and political black-hole rimmed with the threat of nuclear annihilation. You know. Real fear.

5) Sydney Good Food Month
1st-31st October
What: Some of the world’s best chefs will descend on Sydney for the 21st edition of Good Food Month. Taking over restaurants across the city this October, the annual food festival will see pop-up restaurants and dinners from the likes of Alain Passard, Hiroyuki Sato and Thomas Frebel, as well as pasta parties, vegan feasts and the return of the Night Noodle Markets.
Why: The coroner’s report from your multiple coronary-induced death will sound so much more colourful with the names ‘Passard’, ‘Sato’ and ‘Frebel’ under ’cause’.

4) Coffs Harbour International Buskers & Comedy Festival
1st-6th October
What: After 18 years of putting fun and laughter onto the very streets of this fair city, the 2019 Coffs Harbour International Buskers & Comedy Festival enters its nineteenth year in 2019 and just like an eager teenager is bursting at the seams with ideas, flavours and new energy. Entertainment includes artists from across the globe, including a strong Australian and local contingent, in Australia’s largest gathering of professional buskers.
Why: A mild daily annoyance becomes a rabid infection. On the plus side it’s still localised. On the downside, there is no penicillin shot for the concept of busking.

What: Listen Out is Australia’s premier dance music event, bringing quality dance music to four spectacular inner city venues across Australia this spring. Heading up the dance, electronic, and hip hop party this year will be Diplo, rap heavyweight ScHoolboy Q, Atlanta polymath 6LACK, and Flume and many many more.
Why: It’s not enough that this genre infects nearly every place that serves life-giving substances every night. They had to erect an annual festival for it too.
