Engage With a Better Reality at The Brisbane Festival!

The world is collapsing in on itself.

Tensions across the globe are increasing, in-country terrorism is becoming more frequent and violent and Cher won’t stop touring.

The air is on fire, the sky’s exploding and everyone’s screaming.

It’s time for a distraction.

Enter: The Brisbane Festival.

Boldly Brisbane and gloriously global, the festival shines a spotlight on a packed program of spellbinding shows, provocative performances and illuminating installations that will set the city alight. Queensland’s largest arts and cultural event will host 454 performances of 83 shows, involving over 908 artists from around the world.

This year’s theme is based on the (other) three Rs: Revels, Revelations and Romance.

Highlights of the festival include the firework-infused spectacle of Riverfire, Riverstage concerts from Hot Dub Time Machine, Cub Sport, The Amity Affliction, City And Colour, Jacob Collier and Kate Miller-Heidke, the record 16 ground-breaking independent shows at the Theatre Republic site, the large-scale interactive ‘1000 Doors’ maze at Treasury Brisbane Arcadia, theatre productions such as ‘Fangirls’, ‘LOVE+’, ‘Orpheus’ and ‘Eurydice’ and ‘I Left My Heart In Highgate Hill’ and the multi-artform ‘Invisible Cities’ which will bring together international artists at the top of their fields, directed by Leo Warner and involving art and technology wizards 59 Productions, Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and the full dance company of Rambert.

So, come and revel in pure fun! The air’ll be on fire, the sky will explode and everyone will be screaming!

It’s going to be a killer festival.
