Historically, creatives have flourished during times of crisis.

Since the year 2020 is an epic confluence of all kinds of different crises, we could safely assume that the year 2021 will see a rash of brilliant musicians and artists emerging from the brush heralding a new post-COVID artistic era.

However, a safe assumption is still an assumption and considering that our near future is, as a result of several crises all screwing each other, going to be an unpredictable, sticky monstrosity, betting on the existence of a new creative nirvana is akin to betting on an eventually stable economy. Moronic to the point of insanity.

The immediacy of the 2020 contemporary artist-consumer relationship has pretty much carved the writing on the wall for the next decade or so of humanity’s creative output: fewer words, greater butts.
