What: Mwaka moon is back and this month they’re doing their thing: Afro House vs Afrobeat. Featuring the queen of Afrohouse KRISTELLE who will bring the heat behind the stage…something you don’t wanna miss.
Why: Unless you value discernible melodies in your choice of music.
8) Home: Cap Carter with Tim Meaco X Lucy Lowe

What: Cap Carter is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his soul vocals and emotive lyrics. Carter’s writing style is reminiscent of the haunting and soulful melodies of Joni Mitchell and George Michael and the introspective lyrical narratives of Paul Simon. Cap is returning to his singer-songwriter origins bringing along with him a fusion of R&B and indie-rock.
Why: There’s one thing that you will experience this night that you will have never experienced before. Whatever the hell the combination of Joni Mitchell and George Michael sounds like.
7) Warp & :affinity present 747

What: Warp Arts and :affinity collaborate for the very first time to present Vancouver based DJ and producer 747. Inspired by the sounds of Berlin, Detroit, and an array of acid house legends, his sound is elating, powerful and introspective. A combination which embodies ‘the journey’ many of us seek when attending dance music events.
Why: So it’s a journey one seeks when attending a dance music event. It makes sense considering the rest of the one in question’s life is a short walk to nowhere.

What: Purgatory is an underground techno/house event for all those who love real music! Featuring WA-FU, a fusion artist heavily influenced by Bassline and Garage, Hooten, who’s always groovy, energetic and seamless, Alec Bonnici, who has a talent for bass thumping beats and banging house, the eclectic House aficionado Ludovic and many more!
Why: Nothing screams ‘real’ music like a guy named Hooten who feels that Beethoven can only be improved by a drumbeat that sounds like it’s been pulled out of Garageband’s pre-loaded demo tracks. Well. This is purgatory.

3) Stonefield ‘Bent’ World Tour

What: Psych-rock luminaries Stonefield are hitting the road in Australia. The first single Sleep opens the album with guitars covered in five inches of sludge and distortion and something that sounds like a far-off siren, or the high-pitched howling of the wind. It serves as a warning, a call to arms, kicking things off with a next-level version of the massive, unholy racket the band has become known for over the course of their last three albums.
Why: It’s rare for a young contemporary band to describe themselves with such honesty. But then, ingesting copious quantities of psychedelics can allow one to reach new realms of personal revelation without the trappings of ego.

Produced by TEG DAINTY the tour will see Jackman perform a new show with hit songs from The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables and more from Broadway and film, accompanied by a live orchestra.
