Your Life Has Already Gone South. Go South-er With The Southern Highlands Writers’ Festival!

Fancy a weekend in the highlands?

There’ll be hunting, charades, and ever so many delightful romantic misunderstandings.

We’re only joking.

You’ll not find writers of The classic Simpsons ilk here.

And if you are able to find romance, we can only wish you both well on your lifelong journey of embittered resentment following the realisation that the written word is dead and you’ve both found yourself permanently, maddeningly attached to someone that doesn’t understand the true significance of the metaphor of the dead albatross.

Welcome to The Southern Highlands Writers’ festival!

Established in 2012, the festival, held in the town of Bowral, attracts some of Australia’s leading writers and thinkers and past speakers have included Mike Carlton, Robert Dessaix, Nikki Gemmell, David Malouf and Don Watson, to name just a few.

So check the liquid levels in your pen and cock it twice.

This festival has very few years left of its ‘prime’.
