Why: The one thing that can one-up the ego of a new media contemporary artist is exploiting the exhibition in which their work is featured in a transparent Instagram post.

Why: This one’s strictly for the kids. Apparently surrendering your own future to an emotional, intellectual and financial death-hole isn’t enough.
4) Summer Dreaming: A Female-led Fest

What: Summer Dreaming is a new, female-led, alcohol-free music festival that celebrates the female and gender diverse music and creative talents of Melbourne’s inner North. Summer Dreaming was organised by a diverse and passionate group of young women dedicated to creating a music festival that tackles the gender imbalance in the creative industries and fosters a sense of true community. On one stage, Summer Dreaming will shine a spotlight on a predominantly female and gender diverse line-up, with a soft-pop sound.
Why: A music festival of soft pop without alcohol? That feels pretty damn imbalanced to us.
3) Sri Lankan Festival

What: Comedian Dilruk Jayasinha will be hosting the Sri Lankan Festival Melbourne – a celebration that will bring together some of Sri Lanka’s favourite foods, cultural dance performances and musicians. No celebration is complete without Sri Lankan food and with a mouthwatering line up including kottu roti, deviled chicken, hoppers and so much more from food trucks like Taka Taka and Lankan Feast to food stalls like Drums Cafe, Raw Sip, and Kulfi Bar, this is sure to be a festival your tastebuds will not soon forget.
