Top 10 Melbourne Revelry On this week 14/04/2019

Take a deep breath; we’re dropping you into the abyss.

10) Pleasurekraft & Francesca Lombardo Live

19th April

What: A double header party you’ll not want to miss – Pleasurekraft and Francesca Lombardo bringing some serious heat to Shed 9. They will be flipping the shed on its head with lighting, visuals and more.

Why: There’s no better way to morally balance the day you had to spend drowning in your relatives’ overcooked chicken and frilly doilies than a drunken night in a hot shed.

9) Rooftop Day & Night Party ft Secondcity

18th April

What: Perk is proud to be taking over Melbourne’s best rooftop for a massive day & night party on the largest Thursday night in the party calendar. With the rooftop furniture cleared away, welcome Secondcity for an open air affair, overlooking the city skyline from the heart of Chapel St.

Why: Funny. We’d always assumed the notion of a centuries-old reminder of the massacre of a nonviolent people would detract from the party vibe.

7) The Breakfast Club: Easter Saturday Skyline Rave

20th April

What: An intimate skyline rave on the roof of the Hotel Barkly with all the smoke, lights and Funktion One sound of the NYE party, except this time it’s on Easter!

Why: Salute an archaic nature-based pagan festival with laser lights in a skyscraper.

The talents have graced festival floors the likes of Rainbow, Pitch, Subsonic, Babylon and Esoteric plus many more. Prepare to hear a different sound to your average basement pound.

Why: If on average the basements you’ve been around involve a pounding noise you might want to consider living in a different neighbourhood.

5) Jimeoin Result!

13th-24th April

What: “Jimeoin recalls the familiar at a fantastically silly level, boiling his audience down to a tear-filled, gibbering mess” (Scotland on Sunday). Jimeoin is internationally acclaimed as one of live comedy’s masters, so don’t miss your chance to see this guy live.

Why: He will not challenge you. But, honestly, who the hell wants to be challenged these days? So, you ruin of a human being, come. Drink and laugh rather than drink and weep.

2) Pure Melbourne

20th April

What: One of Australia’s most loved techno events, returns for its fourth year! Celebrating techno and house music, PURE has quickly established itself as a must attend event for dance music fans across two countries, thanks to its reputation as an event where the audience can make a special connection with the DJ’s. A night of Pure techno, delivered with incredible sound in an old fashioned no nonsense, no fluff rave atmosphere.

Why: We’re enthralled by the many different ways in which techno music has surfaced in recent cultural history. In the same way a corpse intermittently resurfaces from the currents of the ocean as it alternately fills with gas and dissolves.

Why: Better get used to loving the ocean now. Thanks to unfettered global warming it’s going to be up to your neck in about ten years time.
