What: Yaw waY is a brand spanking new gallery space, run by artists for artists. Come nibble on delicious snacks made by La Pelican restaurant, listen to the divine husky voice of Gabby Dever, a northern beaches singer song writer and mingle with your locals.
Why: The only time wherein it’s genuinely enjoyable to visit a ‘collaborative artist-run space’. When there’s food and booze.

7) Brilliant Artists Film Series: Sidney Nolan
23rd March
What: A series of special art films on the lives of four inspirational Australian artists; John Russell, Sidney Nolan, Salvatore Zofrea and Margaret Olley. The screenings include introductions and Q&As with the filmmakers, providing unique insights into the film process and stories behind the artists.
Why: Unfamiliar with Nolan? He focused mainly on Ned Kelly – his paintings of whom feature largely on cheap postcards you recommend to your most boring visiting relatives as a token of their visit to an interminable art exhibit. Wouldn’t it be exciting to learn the complex history behind one of the most prolific postcard decorators of all time?
6) Short+Sweet Theatre
17th-31st March
What: The biggest little play festival will be returning once again with a smorgasbord of 10 minute plays to delight your tastebuds, with hundreds of talented actors, writers and directors showing off their skills and bringing you a wonderful season of short theatre.
Why: We know. The theatre. But it’s something you have to frequent at least on a biannual basis in order to maintain your intellectual superiority over your loved ones, and they’ve been so kind as to divvy it up into the most amount of time anyone can stand independent theatre without being offensively drunk.

5) Alyssa Edwards Dancing Queen Tour
