A Brief Alleviation of Ubiquitous Pain and Dread: Drugs Optional (Third Line-Up for the 2018 Sydney Comedy Festival Released)

Corruption. Radicalism. Nuclear Annihilation. Fear not. As the clock strikes two minutes to midnight, the heroes have arrived to beckon you away from the ocean of despair. So claw yourself ashore, bend over and purge your lungs because the 2018 Sydney Comedy Festival has released its third lineup.

From the 23rd of April until the 20th of May in Sydney, the masters of sketch, satirical, improvisational, musical, absurdist, theatrical and magical comedy will be ushering you towards recovery in iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Enmore Theatre, The Concourse Chatswood and Riverside Theatres in Parramatta.

The line up so far includes a healthy balance of the new and the long since embittered including UK’s Jonathan Pie, US’s Tom Segura, UK’s Ross Noble, Ireland’s David O’Doherty, NZ’s Urzila Carlson, UK’s Stephen K Amos, US’s The Wayans Brothers’ Shawn Waynes, USA’s Ari Shaffir, Canada’s DeAnne Smith, UK’s James Veitch, US cult favourites Kyle Kinane and Rory Scovel, Scotland’s Larry Dean, newly appointed holy SNL host Michael Che, Joel Creasey, Fiona O’Loughlin, Lawrence Mooney, Tom Gleeson, Rhys Nicholson, Kitty Flanaghan, James Smith and Lawrence Leung.

Stay calm and relax into the muscle-bound throats of your comedic saviours as they dry you off, wrap you in a towel, and gently guide your head deep into the glorious sands of comedy. You may need to mainline the Coopers.
